Shitennoji, Osaka is a town of shopping street that has many temples and shops selling Buddhist articles. You will experience a totally unusual way of worshipping such as pouring water over the guardian deity of children, knocking a log and yourself with a mallet, and fortune telling by raising up the guardian deity of children!
We will take you into the five-story pagoda which you usually can’t get into!
At the end of the tour, you will hit a very local Japanese pub. Enjoy the atmosphere of the Japanese drink culture!

・Visiting the area that has temples and a town with a traditional atmosphere. Tennoji is a redevelopment area where many commercial facilities are newly built, but on this tour, you will visit the traditional Tennoji area!
・A lot of must-see spots such as the five-story pagoda, Japanese garden and treasures exhibition in Shitennnoji temple which has a huge ground.
・Explore Japanese culture through visiting a shop selling beautiful vintage Japanese cloth and a Japanese sweets shop that has a long history.
Sasabi: A shop selling Japanese style old fashioned cloth that is barely available these days. It is famous throughout Japan since it has rare and valuable cloth. Souvenirs are available from few hundred yens!
The ground of Shitennoji temple: A 1,500-year-old temple. The attraction here is the various kinds of worship practice. They are very rare even for Japanese people. Let’s take a walk on the ground and attract good fortune!
Shitennoji temple, Chushin Garan: You can get to the top of the five-story pagoda. There are many five-story pagodas in Japan but only a few where you can do this. Inside the building which is built with the oldest style of building in Japan is also worth seeing!
The garden of Shitennoji temple: A Japanese garden that has “Goku Laku Jyodo” in its name, which means heaven in Buddhism. Strolling around in a mild atmosphere, drinking Japanese tea and eating Japanese sweets here will set your mind peaceful!
Kawafuji: A small shop that has a long history and sells Japanese sweets. The sweets they make look like a piece of art! Don’t miss to try one of those “arts”!
Kiyomizuzaka: A district where you can feel the history. There are many hills that have a tasteful atmosphere and they are called “the seven hills of Tennoji”.
Isshin Ji temple: Being tired of temples? This temple is worth giving a look because of its modern breathtaking sculpture of the Guardian. There is also a Buddhist image made of remained bones, which is popular among locals.
Horikoshi Shrine: It is a relatively small shrine, but it is famous for making your wish for your life come true. If you have a wish you really want to realize, this shrine is a must to visit!
Taneyoshi: A Japanese style standing bar that has many kinds of plates and drinks. It is located in a retro pub district so it feels like you have traveled! Be careful not to drink too much so that you won't forget your unforgettable day!

・The tour begins and ends in different locations. If you would like to change the location of where the tour ends, please consult with your tour guide.
・We have not included any particular lunch/dinner places in this tour, but you are welcome to stop for a break and eat whenever and wherever you like.
・On Sundays ""Sasabi"" and ""Taneyoshi"" are closed. If any of the scheduled places are closed on the day you visit, your tour guide will take you to an alternative location.
