This place thrived thanks to the post-war reconstruction about 50 years ago, and still has the atmosphere it had back then! There are much amusements for grownups such as retro Japanese pub district, movie theater, amusement arcade, and more!
You should try the iconic foods at the pub district: “Takoyaki”, snacks in the shape of a little round ball with octopus in it, “Kushiage”, deep fried skewers, and “Motsuni”, hot pot with pork guts. Try to make friends with locals at standing pubs!

・Enjoy the view of the whole city from the iconic tower of Osaka; Tsutenkaku. Your guide will tell you the spot where you can see two “Tsutenkaku” towers although there is only one.

・Tsutenkaku: The symbolic tower of Osaka. Obviously, you can enjoy the view but also learn the history of the area since it has witnessed the prosperity of the area.
・Shinsekai market: A retro shopping street with many closed shops. Not many shops are opened but the street exhibits panels so you can know how the street used to be.
The deep-fried pork sandwich shop is worth visiting!
・Shinsekai Kankan: A shop selling “takoyaki”, snacks in the shape of a little round ball with octopus in it. It is an iconic food of Osaka and this place is the best in this area. Not only the taste but also the skill of the clerks that makes it the best place!
・Tengu: A restaurant serving “Kushiage”, deep-fried skewers, with “Tengu”, a Japanese monster, on the exterior wall. You will like “Kushiage” as well as the retro atmosphere inside.
・TWO Tenkaku: A spot where you can see “Tsutenkaku”, the first spot on this tour. There is a little surprise here!
Shinsekai Kokusai Gekijo: A retro movie theater that has a longer history than 100 years. They still make posters by hands!
・Smartball New Star: A amusement arcade where you can play Smartball, Japanese ball game similar to pinball, and a fighting game. These are the classics that hasn’t changed for about 50 years!
・Tachinomi Nonkiya: A retro Japanese standing pub. Try some Japanese food and drink here with locals!
・Sennariya Coffee: A café with an antique style of appearance. It is the original café where “Mikkusu juice”, an Osaka iconic drink made from fruit, was first served.
・This tour includes a lunch/dinner venue.
・On Mondays "Tengu" and on Wednesdays "Tachinomi Nonkiya" is closed. If any of the scheduled places are closed on the day you visit, your tour guide will take you to an alternative location.
・There are several spots where children are not allowed to enter.
