Attractions

・Kinkakuji Temple: Also known as the Golden Pavillion. It is busy all year around, but this is a must-see!

・Nijo Castle: Nijo Castle, the place of glory and demise of the Tokugawa Shogunate, is a valuable castle holding Japanese history. Here you can sit in the garden and enjoy the view, a small break after the busy tourist rush.

・Waraku-an: A teahouse where you can enjoy Japanese sweets while admiring the beautiful garden of Nijo castle. Be taken away to a beautiful garden from the entrance, and take a break from the hustle and bustle.

・Kiyomizudera: A world heritage site representing Kyoto. It is one of the most visited temples, it is known as scared to the god of mercy. Built on the slope of a mountain, Shimizu no Butai, you can see over the beautiful city of Kyoto.

・Issen Yoshoku: In Gion, a well known down-town area of Kyoto, you can taste "okonomiyaki" in small, retro Japanese stalls.
