A perfect tour for those who love Japanese food! This is a tour to visit famous shops and taste foods unique to Japan! Especially, we will focus on sake, udon: traditional Japanese thick noodle served in soup stock, and sencha: green tea. You will visit a tea shop where you will learn about sencha, an udon shop famous among locals, and a shop with many kinds of sakes across Japan. Enjoy the great pairing of Japanese food and sake! Not only eating and drinking but you will also learn about the roots of Japanese food culture how interaction with foreign countries influenced it! ・Hakata Sennen-no-mon Gate: You will start your tour here at the gate that leads you to the area with many temples and shrines in Hakata. It is a gate with beautiful ornaments made in 2014. Going through the gate, a stone pavement will take you to the tour to explore the Japanese food culture! ・Jotenji Temple: A temple which is said to be the original place of dumpling and noodles which are essential to Japanese food. The beautiful garden is worth taking a look! ・Shofuku-ji Temple: A temple where “sencha”: green tea is originated from. There is a monument that says it is the original place of sencha in its premise and there is also an old fence with history. The premise is very beautiful and it feels like you are in a forest! ・Mitsuyasu Seika-en: A traditional tea shop with a history of longer than 300 years. The sencha served by the clerks is no like others! Especially the taste and the flavor is richer than any other sencha. ・Rakusuien Garden: A Japanese garden with a traditional Japanese tea ceremony room. You can have a different type of green tea, matcha while enjoying the beautiful Japanese garden! Compare the difference between the sencha you had at the last spot. You will also have a Japanese sweet of the season. Experience the way how the Japanese appreciate the seasons. ・300 steps from station: Now that you are familiar with udon, why not tasting he Hakata version of it! Udon is eaten all over Japan but the taste and texture totally differ according to the area! There are many famous shops in KITTE Hakata and around it so pick your favorite one and try udon! ・Sumiyoshi liquor Hakata Deitosu shop: Let’s have delicious Japanese food and sake at the last spot of this tour! This spot is a shop specializing in sake and you can try the Japanese way of drinking sake: “Kak-uchi” for a reasonable price!

・This tour includes a lunch/dinner venue.
・On Tuesdays "Rakusuien" and Sundays "Mitsuyasu Seika-en" are closed. If any of the scheduled places are closed on the day you visit, your tour guide will take you to an alternative location.
