Hakata is the city of food! Ramen, udon, seafood, local markets and mentaiko... find whatever you desire! Why not spend half a day to explore this Japanese food?
First to the local market. Find everything, vegetables, seafood, meat - true food galore! Great to walk and eat, and enjoy fresh seafood bowls.
"Mentaiko" which is made from pickling cod roe in chilli pepper is also famous. Visit the mentaiko factory, and make a mentaiko of your own taste as a souvenir.
Lastly the stalls. Keep cosy with the locals and taste their alcohol and food. We will introduce you to popular udon and sake stalls.

・Enjoy eating and drinking at the market loved by the locals, taste the seafood bowls! There are also cafes and bakeries. You are sure to find your favorite spot!
・Make your own taste mentaiko after your tour of the mentaiko factory. It is great to eat with rice. Learn about Hakata's food culture and festivals at the museum too.
・Experience the Japanese style of eating and drinking, Kadouchi. Enjoy the combination of Kyushu's sake and delicious food.
・Explore Hakata's stalls. Pick your stall and have a drink with your otomo guide.
・Yanagibashi Rengo Ichiba (Fish Market): A market of often used by the locals! Find seafood, vegetables, cafs and bakeries here. It is a place symbolizing the richness of Hakata food.
・Haku Haku: Speaking of Hakata, you cannot miss mentaiko! It is a museum of "Fukuya" which became the famous store for Mentaiko. Explore the factory, and also make your own taste! You can also find an introduction to Hakata food here too.
・Sumiyoshi Shuhan (Liquor Store): At the end of this trip, taste the delicious food and sake! These are the unique Japanese speciality stores all at reasonable prices, where you can enjoy the Japanese stand style eating kadouchi. If you don't drink alcohol, just grab some food!
・Hakata Yatai "Hime-chan": Food stalls are essential when speaking of food in Hakata. Food stalls of tonkotsu ramen, oden, yakitori, gyoza and much more. Not only is this cheap, but also explore local culture by communication with the locals. Don't worry about language barriers, your otomo guide will help you out!
・Spot④ is only payable by cash (Japanese yen). As credit cards and electronic money is not accepted, please make sure to bring Japanese yen to the tour.
・Tour finishing point is different to tour starting point. Please consult the guide if you would like to change your finishing point.
・Lunch (dinner) is not included, however, meals can be purchased along the way
