Experience waterfall-related culture: soda pop, somen and gourd art

An hour away by train from Nagoya is a city called Yorocho famous for its beautiful waterfall and tasty spring water.
You can hike to Yoro Falls and experience some unique Japanese culture.
You will forget to breathe, once you reach the majestic Yoro Falls. The high-quality spring water is chosen as one of the 100 Best Spring Waters in Japan; there is even a legend that the water can rejuvenate. You should not miss out on the 100-year historic soda pop made using this spring water, and Nagashi somen (noodles flowing in running water).
Experience unique modern art, and visit a shop with more than 120 gourd art items.
A perfect plan for getting refreshed in the forest along beautiful streams!

・You can enjoy walking in nature and drinking juice and sake made from the spring water.
・You can experience one of Japanese's unique food cultures "Nagashi Somen", catching and eating thin somen noodles flowing in cold water down a split bamboo pipe.

Attractions

・Yoro Site of Reversible Destiny: A rare spot where you can experience a new kind of art using your body. Unlike other exhibitions where you look at canvases, the entire park area is designed by artists where you can physically experience art.
・GORAKU: Let's take a short break at this souvenir shop/restaurant halfway up the waterfall. We recommend Gifu's specialty Gohe-mochi (rounded sticky rice cake with sweetened soy sauce) and soda pop made using the waterfall's water. You can also eat Udon noodles and rice bowl dishes. You will enjoy having conversations with friendly people working here.
・Yoro Shrine: The spring water found in this shrine is certified by the country for its tapwater quality. There is even a legend of water turning into sake. Enjoy exploring the fabulous nature.
・Yoro Falls: The main purpose of this tour, is the beautiful waterfall which is 32m high and 4m wide. There is an anecdote describing an emperor 1300 years ago who was so impressed at the beautiful Yoro Falls and ended up changing the name of the era!
・Takimitei: A restaurant where you can take a break and look over the open field from the window. Enjoy the Japanese tradition of eating Nagashi Somen in which you will feel as if you are playing a game. Try it yourself to find out more!
・Hyotan Lamp Museum (formerly called Hyotan Gallery): A museum displaying artistic lamps made from a unique plant called "Hyotan" (gourd). Experience the magical atmosphere generated by the artwork the couple has made over the past 10 years.
