・Omiyage Dokoro Sendai: Let’s get some snacks here and get ready for the tour! There are many snacks from classic one to local ones such as the iconic Sendai food: Sasakama, sort of a fish cake, and Zunda mochi, rice cake with mashed peas! Your otomo guide will give you tips which one to buy if you are not sure what to buy.
・Zuihoden (the mausoleum of Date Masamune): You will start your tour here at the place where Date Masamune is enshrined! The ornaments are so beautiful and gorgeous that you will forget it is a grave! Meet the rich culture of time back then!
・SENDAI CITY MUSEUM: A museum exhibiting many things related to Date Masamune and the history of Sendai city! You can have an experience of making your own family crest and also wear a helmet that samurais used to wear during war.
・Gengo Chaya Restaurant: Have a break at a traditional teahouse famous among locals! Don’t forget to try the iconic Sendai sweet: Zunda mochi! The Zunda mochi made in a traditional way is awesome!
・Sendai Castle Ruins: The site of the castle of Date family. You can have a panoramic view of the whole city from high ground. It is a pity that the castle itself doesn’t exist anymore but you can know how it was like with CG!
・Osaki Hachiman Shrine: The oldest existing shrine built in “Gongen-zukuri style” in Japan. It is a national treasure and is famous among locals as their guardian. It is also famous as a spot to bring luck for business and competition.
・Please come in comfortable clothing, as this tour involves a lot of walking.
・We have not included any particular lunch/dinner places in this tour, but you are welcome to stop for a break and eat at resting spots.
