Shiogama is a port town that can be reached in 30 minutes by train from Sendai St. The historic port town is known as a paradise for Japanese foods.
The first spot to visit is the fish market. You can buy fresh seafood, make Donburi, which is a Japanese bowl with rice, and of course, can eat it!
What would you prefer to put on the rice bowl? Your tour guide will help you to negotiate with the store! After eating the seafood bowl, you will next visit a facility where you can learn about tuna and Shiogama Port. There are many long-established soy sauce and sake shops in Shiogama. Let's enjoy the traditional atmosphere at those stores and taste various soy sauces and sake!

・Shiogama Seafood Wholesale Market: You will see many seafood stores in this market. You can make your own seafood bowl here by choosinfg your favorite seafood. You could be discounted the price if you could negotiate with the store well!
・Shiogama City Fish Museum: Shiogama port was hardly damaged when the Tohoku earthquake in 11th Mar 2011. However they have all recovered from such situation and have built new facilities. In this museum, you can learn about Shiogama's seafood.
・Timeship Shiogama: As it named "timeship", you can learn about history of Shiogama here. From the observation deck, you can see entire Shiogama city.
・Ota Yohachiro Shoten: The store sells Miso and Soy sauce and has over 170 years history. Have you ever hear a miso ice cream? Worth to try it here!
"・Tanrokuen: This is Wagashi, Japanese traditional snack, store with over 300 years of history. The most popular wagashi called ""Shihogama"" is a must eat!
Actually, this store was not wagashi store in ages ago... You should ask the story behind!"
・Shiogama Shrine: A national treasure and important cultural property with over 1000 years history. In the spring the shrine grounds are transformed by many different types of beautiful cherry blossoms including the Shiogama-zakura pink flowers that are designated as a national monument.
・Abekan Sake Brewery: This is a sake brewery made Miyagi original sake. Sake from this brewery cannot be tasted out of this prefecture. It is simply because the people in this city usually drink all of these before it goes out of the city. You should definitely try the original sake here.
・Uragasumi Sake Brewery: The brewery aims to make a classic and elegant sake with a harmonious balance of flavor and aroma. This is one of the most popular sake brands in Miyagi. They serve different sake every day, so you will never know what you can try on the day you visit.
・Gelateria Fruits Laboratory: There is no doubt that you will be attracted by the colorful gelato! It looks very fashionable and feels like you are eating real fruits.


・Please wear comfortable clothing as you will be walking a lot.
・In case of rain, some of the spots will be replaced with alternative spots.
・Lunch (Dinner) venue is included
・Please understand that "Timeship Shiogama" and "Gelateria Fruits Laboratory" will be closed on Monday. If you bool this tour on Monday you will visit alternative spots. When other sports are also closed randomly, you will visit alternative spots.
・As "Shiogama shrine" is not applicable for a wheelchair user, you will visit an alternative spot in case your group member uses a wheelchair.
