Sakurajima Ferry
The Sakurajima Ferry, also known as the "Sea Bypass", connects Kagoshima Port and Sakurajima and operates 24 hours a day. Enjoy an elegant 15-minute boat ride with beautiful views of Sakurajima, a symbol of Kagoshima, and the beautiful sea.
Sakurajima Visitor Center
This small museum exhibits the history of Sakurajima's eruptions and the mechanisms of an active volcano. There is also a live camera near the active crater, so you can learn more about the state of Sakurajima on the day you visit.
Sakurajima Yogan Nagisa Park
At this recommended spot, enjoy natural hot spring waters from 1000m underground in a foot bath. The reddish-brown foot bath will warm you up in no time. Experience a luxurious break while enjoying the view of Mother Nature.
Roadside Station Sakurajima Hi-no-shima Megumikan
This is one of the few roadside stations in the country located at the foot of an active volcano that still has smoke billowing from it. Here, you can find all the bounty of nature that grows in Sakurajima's unique climate. There are plenty of things to do here, from picking out souvenirs to sampling Sakurajima's gourmet food.
Sakurajima-yaki Ogaku Pottery
At this facility, visitors can experience sand art using volcanic ash, also known as "the nuisance of Sakurajima". You can create your own unique work of art using the colourfully coloured volcanic ash, and bring it home with you as a souvenir of your trip.
Yunohira Observatory
At an altitude of 373m, this observatory is the highest point on Sakurajima Island accessible to the public. The 360° panoramic view that can only be seen from here is truly a must-see, and will allow you to feel the power of Sakurajima with your whole body.


In the event of inclement weather on the day of the tour, the mode of transportation, the spots visited, and the route of the tour itself are subject to change without notice.
The end point of the tour differs from the start point. If you wish to change the end point to another spot, please let your tour guide know on the day itself when you meet up with them.
As this tour involves a lot of walking, please come in comfortable shoes and clothes that are easy to walk in.
During the volcanic ash art experience, your clothes may get dirty, so please take care when handling the ash.
