Ameyoko, the Black Market of the Post War Period
0.0/5.0

Search for cheap souvenirs in the market of Ameyoko in Ueno

After the war, Ameya Yokocho, a.k.a Ameyoko, developed as a black market that sold all sorts of things, including millitary goods from the U.S. army. Today, although it is no longer a black market, you can still find incredibly cheap things here, sometimes it is hard to believe just how cheap! You might feel a little lost, however, in this bustling market of hundreds of shops, so we have put together a tour that will take you around the most recommended shops. You can buy clothes, sports products, cosmetics, snacks and other everyday products for a great bargain!
Enjoy conversations with the shop keepers, unique to busy markets, and maybe even bargain for a further reduction...!
