Experience the lives of locals in retro town, Uenosakuragi
0.0/5.0

Enjoy a relaxing tour of shrines, coffee shops and old private houses.

People have always sought special places to gather in. In Japan, since the ancient times, people have created communities in places such as shrines, temples, nagaya (historic apartment houses) and graveyards. In modern Japan, people gather in places such as libraries, cafes and coworking spaces.
On this tour, you will be introduced to the locations that have been used as assembly points, from the ancient times up to today. Visit a temple that was built during the Edo period (1603-1868), an old Japanese style house renovated as a community space and an old, retro style cafe where the citizens of the town gather today.
Spend a slow day exploring the local town Uenosakuragi.
