Harajuku is famously known for its chaotic vibe and crazy youth culture, and is a location highly recommended for sightseeing. However, because the youth culture is so famous, the other side of Harajuku; the more traditional side, is often dismissed. On this tour, your otomo tour guide will take you around wonderful locations in which you can get a proper experience of traditional Japanese culture. Try on samurai armor, visit museums to see world-famous ukiyo-e prints and learn about the art of noh, climb Fujizuka; a mound made to resemble Mt.Fuji, and pray at Meiji Jingu Shrine. Your tour guide will explain interesting historical facts to you along the way.
・Visit Ota Memorial Museum of Art to admire their 14,000 pieces of ukiyo-e works.
・Try on real samurai armor and pose for the camera with a katana sward!
・Enjoy the vast, tranquil grounds of Meiji Jingu Shrine's mysterious forest.
・Learn about noh, the foundation of Japan's performing arts.
・Climb Fujizuka which was historically built for people to climb instead of the real Mt.Fuji, and enjoy the view of Hatomori Hachiman Shrine from above.
Ota Memorial Museum of Art: As a first step, explore Japanese art Ukiyo-e history. This museum possesses more than 12,000 pictures which are drawn by individual artists.

On January 1, it is also famous that many visitors come to Japan. Of course, many tourists frequently visit here to enjoy the rich nature, historical sites, and spiritual atmosphere created by them.

Meiji Jingu Shrine's Inner Gardens: It can not be said that you just enjoyed Meiji Shrine simply by walking along the approach road and visiting. Why not go to the beautiful garden and power spots in the Shrine too!
The masugata stone at Meiji Jingu Shrine: It is a secret spot which only Meiji Shrine mania people know. If you do not know it is a place to go by, but in fact, there is a wonderful secret that brings you good luck!
The South Gate at Meiji Jingu Shrine: It is a gate a little more to the main shrine. Although its attention is paid to its architecture, it is actually a "miracle place" that remained without burning even during the war in the past.
Main Building at Meiji Jingu Shrine: Arrived at the main shrine at last so as to visit the surprising attractions of Meiji Shrine so far! You may wish to visit according to the instructions and pray for the safety of your future trip. Also, you can not miss the original Omikuji.
Samurai Store Tkyo: Here, you can wear Samurai armor. This store sell armors which designed based on Samurai armor in Sengoku era. You can of course take a photo by wearing the armor.
National Noh Theatre: Leaving the Meiji Shrine, and move to a place regarding traditional Japanese art, "Noh music"! The National Noh theatre is a performance area specializing in Japanese traditional arts "Noh music". We can watch performing the stage of Noh, but let's learn about Noh music at the exhibition room and shop this time.
"Hatomori Hachiman Shrine:
It is a shrine that ends the journey around traditional culture. There is ""Mt. Fuji"" in this shrine! What do you mean? You will see what do I mean! Wait till the end of the tour.
The shrine is also famous regarding Japanese traditional board game ""Shogi""."
・Please come in comfortable clothing, as this tour involves a lot of walking.
・The tour begins and ends in different locations. If you would like to change the location of where the tour ends, please consult with your tour guide.
・We have not included any particular lunch/dinner places in this tour, but you are welcome to stop for a break and eat whenever and wherever you like.
・Ota Memorial Museum of Art will be closed when they are preparing for a new exhibition. If any of the scheduled places are closed on the day you visit, your tour guide will take you to an alternative location.
