Most of the travelers who visited Asian countries have probably seen Buddha statues before.
However, the temple/shrine, where the statue is enshrined, are diverse and can be enjoyed by many different ways.

Here, we will introduce 4 recommended ways to enjoy the Buddha statues. Even those who have never paid attention to Buddha statues will want to go to see the Buddha statue!

[Person who want to relax and feel something unusual]
"I want to escape from their daily busy routines, and relax while traveling!" We recommend visiting Buddha statues. It provides a moment to reflect upon yourself. There are many places to see a Buddha, whether it be at a museum where national treasures are stored or a large hall in the precinct of a beautiful temple. Look at the smiling face of the Buddha, and it will allow you to forget about your day to day worries and fatigue.

[Person who want to try an amazing experience]
"I want to have an amazing experience when traveling!" We recommend visiting daibutsu. Only a statue with a height over 4.8m is referred to as a daibutsu. There are many daibutsu across Japan, and there is even a statue 100m tall. If you stand at the foot of the statue, you will be overwhelmed and your breath was taken away by the size of the statue. You will be taken away when you see the daibutsu, visited by many people who have dedicated their prayers and wishes. Feel the deepness of their stories left behind. A fun way to enjoy the daibutsu is to explore the inside! You can explore the inside of some large daibutsu, and admire the scenery from the inside.

[Person who want to enjoy activities]
"I want to enjoy activities when traveling!" We will introduce you to many activities to experience at the temple. For example, in a temple where Buddha statues are lined up, find a statue with a face like your own or a person you want to meet. Other activities include swallowing paper in the shape of a Buddha to gain luck, polishing a Buddha statue to cleanse your body and lift a jizo where your wishes may come true. There are many activities to experience!

[Person who want to meet locals more]
"I want to meet new people while traveling!" We recommend an experience of listening to the stories of a chief priest at a temple whilst also admiring the Buddha statue. What is the history behind this Buddha? What does it bring to us? We can also listen to the monks who will tell us how to receive the grace from the Buddhas. In some temples, the stories are told in a fun, simple and easy to understand way through comical performances.

A contemporary way to admire and experience the Buddha statues. How would you like to engage in this experience?

Introduce an exquisite trip that you can fully utilize the five senses. Enjoying the Japanese cuisine "Washoku", one of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, and being healed by the Japanese hot spring "Onsen"! First of all, you may think about what is Gastronomy tourism. Gastronomy is not commonly used which means that not only enjoying delicious meals but also knowing the local ingredients, culture, and history. What we introduce here is how to enjoy “food”, not just “eat”. For example, food products vary greatly depending on the landform, weather, and other factors. Japan is a small island country, long north to south, surrounded by four different ocean currents, 70% of the land is mountainous, and the weather is different in each city. Such characteristics enable Japan to produce many local foods. You will then visit farms, ranches, and harbors where you can try local foods, and find out why the food caught there is delicious. Also, how to cook ingredients is closely related to food culture and history. It is also interesting to enjoy the food while knowing the history in a local specialty restaurant that is unique to the area. Furthermore, a hot spring is a good place to experience with gastronomy. Sightseeing, walking around and eating foods, then visit Japanese hot spring "Onsen". Japan, the world's leading hot spring country, has hot springs in all prefectures, with more than 3,000 hot springs destinations and more than 20,000 hot springs. In each hot spring, there are ways to enjoy more than just entering the hot spring. For example, you can stroll around nostalgic and classic Japanese atmospheric Onsen town where many hot springs are accumulated in the town. You can also enjoy the scenery at the open-air hot spring. You can see the open ocean, the rivers and waterfalls flowing through the valley, and the mountains that spread throughout the seasons. There is no doubt that everyday fatigue will disappear quickly and you can relax. How is it? "Onsen" and "Gastronomy" can be combined as "Onsen Gastronomy Tourism". If you have a chance to visit Japan, why not try both Onsen and Gastronomy Tourism.

Peace Tourism

"Peace tourism", commonly known as "Dark tourism", is a journey to visit locations where experience wars or natural disasters. However, while dark tourism focuses on to see the tragic scene itself, the peace tourism, we introduce here, focuses more on the steps that how people reconstruct their city after wars or disasters. What do you feel when you witness those who continue to move forward despite the tough past? There are two main types of peace tourism. Firstly, a trip to the negative legacy of human history. Visit places affected by the war and military facilities. When you visit the site, you would be reminded of the tragic situation of those days, and you can feel the people's strong desire for peace. For example, the Atomic Bomb Dome in Hiroshima has been left as a symbol of a strong will to overcome difficult memories and wish for peace. The second is a trip to the areas affected by natural disasters. Japan has many natural disasters, such as earthquakes and typhoons, and many people have been deprived of life in the affected areas. People are aiming to "reconstruct" a city that is more prosperous than before, instead of "restoring" to return from the disaster. For example, Kobe, which experienced the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, is recovering more than it could be thought of as a city damaged 20 years ago. The feature is that you can see the disaster site at the same time as the gorgeous Kobe sightseeing, and you can feel the value of safe living. Peace tourism is a style of travel where you can learn a lot by feeling close to the "death" that you want to avoid if possible. Knowing the importance of life may enrich your future life.

Don't you think that only you can do at the shopping arcade is to purchase souvenirs? If you visit the shopping arcades all over Japan, you will meet local people, learn about Japanese clothing, food, and housing, and experience the best of history and culture. A shopping arcade is a place where many small shops are lined up across the street, where you can find everything you need for daily staff such as food and daily necessities. Japanese life used to be centered around the shopping arcade in decades ago. However, large shopping malls were built and getting popular these days, many local shopping arcades are losing their old dynamism. Although such a historical background has been seen in many places, there are shopping arcades that are full of many people every day! Here, you will see what kind of shopping arcades are attracting attention by dividing them into 3 main attractions. The first attraction is to "Enjoy Local Food". For example, there is a shopping arcade with fresh seafood specialty shops near the sea, and you can enjoy the atmosphere of a fish market while eating and walking around the purchased seafood. In addition, you can enjoy the old-fashioned taste that has been handed down for generations in the district where stores remain since decades ago. Once you step in such an area, you will feel as if you are going back in time and experiencing the old Japan. Also, there are shopping arcades where all the stores are izakayas (Japanese pub). These shopping arcades are quiet during the day time, but when the sun goes down, the lights of the shop begin to turn on suddenly, and you will hear the voices of people enjoying meals! Furthermore, there is a shopping arcade where stores sell only kitchen tools. International tourists often visit the arcade to purchase Japanese dishes and knives. The second attraction is "Specialty Stores" that sell unique staff. For example, a shopping arcade, where young people visit, gathers a lot of trendy clothes and miscellaneous goods, and a shopping arcade, where elderly people visit, gathers shops according to the age. There are also shopping streets that specialize in hobbies such as specialty stores for "otaku", anime and game lovers. The last attraction is "Uniqueness". Every shopping arcade reflects the local culture and atmosphere. Shopping arcades are located around/close to landmarks so that visitors can easy to access and come for souvenirs. For example, the shopping arcade located on the way to popular shrine is one of them and will keep you excited all the way to the spot you want to visit. Japanese life itself is appearing in the shopping district. You will never know how deeply connect the city and people unless you visit the place. Admire the Seasonal Flowers

You can enjoy seasonal flowers all year round in Japan! As you may know that Japan has four seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter. When you step into the flower garden, it looks like a fairyland. Even in places where green leaves are usually overgrown, when the flowering season comes, the whole area is filled with flowers and the wonderful scenery spreads. The flower can continue to bloom beautifully for several weeks a year. It is wonderful to choose a sightseeing area to see the spectacular view! There are many famous flower spots all over the country, so let's introduce some typical flowers that can be enjoyed in order from spring. [Spring March - May] In the spring, the buds that slept during the cold winter season will bloom. Speaking of spring, "Hanami", where you can see the cherry blossoms blooming, is especially famous. Hanami means that cherry-blossom viewing and drinking, eating, and having fun under the cherry blossoms. Hanami is written in Chinese characters as "seeing flowers", but Japanese people who like cherry blossoms can see the fact that only seeing cherry blossoms is specially called cherry blossom viewing. Hanami is famous all over the country, especially in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nara where you can see a variety of cherry blossom trees. After the cherry blossoms fall, many flowers, such as tulips, wisteria, azaleas, nemophila, moss phlox, roses, etc., bloom from April to May! You can enjoy a bunch of flowers by visiting each flower garden. The flowers will spread under your eyes like a beautiful landscape, and will surely fill your heart. [Summer June - August] After spring, the rainy season comes to Japan. It is a time when the number of rainy days increases from June to early July. Of course, you don't want rain when you go to travel, but hydrangea blooms at this time. It is also an elegant time to spend a quiet and relaxing day watching the hydrangeas getting wet in the rain. For example, Kamakura and Hakone are famous hydrangea spots in Japan. When the summer comes in late July, the sunflowers are full of bloom. Stretching steadily toward the sun and straying into a sunflower field about the height of a person, you will feel as if you were in a painting or movie. [Autumn September - November] Cosmos blooms from September to October, roses bloom from October to November, and in November you can enjoy the autumn leaves of maple leaves and ginkgo leaves. Many maples and ginkgo are planted in gardens and parks, so you can enjoy walking along the roadside without going to the flower garden. The trees and fallen leaves dyed in yellow and red tell the coming of winter with the excitement of the beauty of natural colors. As a tourist spot, Kyoto's autumn leaves are especially famous, and many people go out to see the bright red color. [Winter December - Feburary] During the cold winter months, the leaves of the trees fall and the variety of flowers decreases. Only the branches wait for the coming of spring to survive the cold and lead to the next life. From January to February, the buds of the plum finally begin to blossom. In February, when the early blooming cherry blossoms and rape blossoms begin to bloom, the color of the flowers, which had only branches and leaves, began to appear little by little, and you could gradually feel the mood of spring. So, you can enjoy various flowers throughout the year in the four seasons. Why don't you find your favorite flower and visit the flower garden for the flowering time?
